Diagnostic Spelling Assessment-2
Ever since I started teaching with SWI, I knew that a different way of teaching spelling required a different way of assessing. I was teaching spelling differently but my assessments reflected the hierarchical “stages of spelling theory” not the “repertoire theory” approach that defines what we do when we give young learners morphological, etymological, and phonological knowledge/strategies to understand a word right from the beginning of instruction.
